Lower Dir Profile

The Lower Dir Chamber of Commerce & industry was established in 2016 as there is no proper industrial zone so at present small and large traders are its founders a few wood working institutes and marble factories, surf factories, travel agency, salt factories, are its members as well. At present we have no own building we have started facilitation in rented building which is situated in the center of Timergara city.

Since its inception the LDCCI has consistently and successfully advocated the interest of its members and worked for the solution to problems faced by them in running and expanding their businesses. On top of that, it has also proven to be a fertile nursery for numerous important initiatives undertaken collectively by the city’s business community as well as a useful forum for their execution. Before the LDCCI, the local business community faced many constraints and found it difficult to ensure fast-paced industrial growth. The reason for this very slow progress was that the fact no trade body was there to give protection to the interest of the local industrialists.

Today, The Lower Dir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LDCCI), comprises of 1100 plus active members including proprietorships, Associations of Persons (AOPs), Partnerships, and Corporations.

Given the problem and difficulties of the business community of Lower Dir, the urgency of constituting a Chamber was widely felt, which could provide a more prestigious and dignified forum to the local business community and effectively take up the issues with Government for redressal. It was decided by the pioneers of the local community to get the existing Association to the level of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Lower Dir Chamber was incorporated under Company Act 2013 vide License No. 226 dated08 September2016 issued by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan under section 3 of Trade Organization Ordinance2013 and was formally affiliated with FPCCI on November 17-2016.

As an important district in Malakand division, the business volume of the district is reasonably large and fulfils the needs of the dependent districts. Moreover, as an alternate route of CPEC has been planned to pass through these districts, it can compete with other potential markets of the country. This easy connectivity to the central Asian countries which on one side, would contribute to the growth of the district in special and the country ingeneral. Once the business activities start through this route, it would definitely decrease in conservatism, extremism, terrorism and add to the uplifting in the living standard of the people.
